Joining and Adding Content to Poet Seers
We at Poetseers.org have been blessed to have many contributors with lots of beautiful diverse poetry. We have been looking for a way to make our contributors a bit more autonomous when it comes to adding content. Now our contributors can have their own member folder where they can add content.
Joining Poetseers is a two-stage process: first they have to fill out the join form and verify their email address, and then they have to log in to start adding poetry!
Joining Poetseers:
- Go to http://www.poetseers.org/join_form and fill in details. Remember to add the email; we will send an email to you at this address.
- Check your email account for our mail. Inside the mail, click on the activation link. You will be taken to a page where you can set a password (according to the rules set out at the bottom of the page).
Logging into Poetseers
- Every time you want to add something to Poetseers, you first have to log in at http://www.poetseers.org/login_form and enter username and password.
- Click on the link 'My Folder' to the right of your name (just below the tabs) to access your folder - the space where you add content!
- At the moment, your folder is private, which means it can be seen only by you once you are logged in. Above the title and to the right you should see a link 'State: Private', this will give a menu where you select 'publish'. Published items can be seen by everyone.
- To add a page click on 'add to folder' (just to the left of the 'State' link.) From the drop down menu choose 'page'.
- Add your content (see the add content section below) and then save the page. Be sure to give your page a title, it wont save without it!
- This page is also private. In order for it to be visible to everyone, you first have to submit it for review by the site editors. To so this, go to the 'State: Private' link again and choose 'submit'. Your page should be published and visible to everyone in a couple of days.
- You can add images to your folder; you can also add subfolders and arrange poetry within folders.
Adding content to Poetseers
When you add a page to Poetseers, you will see an 'Edit Page' screen where you fill in a page title (mandatory), a description (the paragraph in bold at the start of the text, you can leave it blank if you want), and the body text field.
By default there is a Word-like interface called Kupu so that people who don't know much about web coding can add text. It should be fairly easy to grasp for anyone who has used Microsoft Word before. If you need any help, you can check out this Kupu help page on vasudevaservice.com.
When you have written a poem don't forget to submit the poem by going to State (top right) and clicking submit.
Note on Submissions
At Poetseers we are selective about the poetry we publish. It is primarily a site for spiritual poetry. This does not mean the poem has to be overtly spiritual. However we wouldn't publish poems with swear words in, for example. Please do not be offended if some poems are not accepted. They may be very good poems, but just more suitable for other sites.
Sorry for Delay
Sometimes we don't publish poems for a few days. We usually try and do it once a week, sorry for delay
IMPORTANT Don't Forget To Submit the Poem
It is important to submit the poem. After writing, the poem will be private. If you look at top right of green bar it will say: State: Private. Click on this and change to 'submit'
Many Thanks!
Adding Biography and Photo
A nice thing to do, if you have the time, would be to add a short biography and picture of yourself. You can do this by selecting 'Preferences' (to the right below the tabs, just beside the 'My Folder' link) and then clicking on 'Personal Preferences'. This brings you to a screen where you can configure all sorts of things. You'll see a field where you can add a short bio, and at the very bottom, another where you can add a photo.

This website uses an open source program called Plone to manage all the pages and images that get added to it. There is a Plone Basics section on the vasudevaservice.com website, which has all you need to know about Plone as well as good advice on general page design.
