Poems about Sympathy

sympathy poem

” Sorrow thinks it is incurable.
Sympathy
Does not agree.
Sympathy
Cures
The heart of
Sorrow”

– Sri Chinmoy (2)

~

” One has to all the time feel others’ sufferings as one’s very own.
Sympathy has to be the first and foremost thing in one’s life, sympathy and the feeling of oneness.
There cannot be anything greater than the feeling of oneness .”

– Sri Chinmoy (1)

Poems on Sympathy

~

Sympathy is man’s soulful self-expansion.
Sympathy is God’s perfect satisfaction in man.
Sympathy does not walk along the narrow road of the human mind.
Sympathy walks only along the broad road of the divine heart.
Sympathy is a love-flower and a oneness-fruit.
Sympathy is at once man’s lighthouse and man’s treasure-island.
Sympathy is the revelation of God-Heart in man

Sri Chinmoy

~

Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey:
From childhood to maturity
and youth to age;
From innocence to awareness
and ignorance to knowing;
From foolishness to desecration
and then perhaps to wisdom.
From weakness to strength or
from strength to weakness
and often back again;
From health to sickness
and we pray to health again.
From offense to forgiveness
from loneliness to love
from joy to gratitude
from pain to compassion
from grief to understanding
from fear to faith.
From defeat to defeat to defeat
until looking backwards or ahead
We see that victory lies not
at some high point along the way
but in having made the journey
step by step
a sacred pilgrimage.
Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey;
A sacred journey to life everlasting
