It Appears I Alone Hear

It appears I alone hear

The drop of tears on the conscience

It appears I alone see

The magic of the lamp in my mind

But why then I see only darkness

If light be signature of the lamp.

It appears many doors have opened

Unfolding worlds beyond my understanding

But because I see, I  feel

Then allow that moment to pass

Belief to be suspended

New knowledge to sip

At the fountain of iridescent light;

Colors take my fancy,

Meanings change, float clear, settle

But disappear once I regain realms of earth.

It appears I am not really alone

I am not I, but different personae

Frozen in the capsule of the mind

A thought that may not truly be mine.
